William Raymond Roberts “Bill”, 76, of Odessa, MO, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, MO. Funeral services will be Friday, June 27, 2014 at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, Blue Springs: Visitation will be 1-2 pm with the funeral following at 2 pm; burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family suggest contributions to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
Bill was born January 31, 1938 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Jesse & Marianne (Berry) Roberts. He married Linda C. Irwin on July 11, 1981. Bill was a union electrician until his retirement. He was a proud veteran of the US Army. Bill was a member of the IBEW Local #124. In 1961, Bill became a Mason and went on to become a 32nd Degree Mason of the Ararat Shriners of Kansas City, MO. He was also a member of the Blue Springs Masonic Lodge, the Punta Gorda Order of the Moose, and the Port Charlotte Elks Lodge.
Bill was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda Roberts of the home; three daughters: Kelly Al-Qammaz (Hisham) of Independence, MO, Teresa Entwistle (Paul) of University City, MO, and Billie Roberts of Shawnee, KS; a son: Troy Goetz (Rene) of Buckner, MO; four sisters: Barbara Popp (Rainer) of Blue Springs, MO, Judy Vickers of Independence, MO, Vicki Sawyer (Larry) of Laurie, MO, and Betty Davies of Climax Springs, MO; one brother: David Roberts of Alma, MO; seven grandchildren: Brandy Sansone, Seth Wilson, Jessie Entwistle, Jake Entwistle, Kiersta Goetz, Anna Goetz, & Jaren Goetz; and two great grandchildren.
