Frieda Schmidt, 87, of Nevada, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. preceding the service. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 29th in Johannestal Cemetery in Hillsboro, Kansas.

Frieda was born on July 18, 1920, in Lehigh, Kansas, the daughter of Reinhold and Anna (Wedel) Guhr. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed quilting and growing flowers. Frieda was baptized in April of 1960 and was a member of the Living Church of God. She was also a member of the Pueblo Club. Frieda was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin A. Schmidt on July 19, 2007; a son, Phillip in 1975; two brothers, Jacob Guhr in 1974 and Henry Guhr in 1995.

Her survivors include four sons: Richard Schmidt of Nevada, MO, Calvin Schmidt & his wife, Judith of Nevada, MO Wayne Schmidt & his wife, Venita of Grain Valley, MO; two daughters: Nadine Szymkowiak of Independence, MO and Elaine DenHouter & her husband, Dan of Ann Arbor, MI; one brother: Herbert Guhr of Hillsboro, KS; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
