Peter G. Soderlund


Peter Gustav Soderlund, 76, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2007 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 21, 2007 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Pete was born on October 26, 1930, in Scotts Valley, California, the son of Nels Gustave and Marjorie Lorinda (Dean) Soderlund. he attended Oregon State College where he received his teaching certificate. He also served in the Air Force. Pete married Ledia Rosa Flores on November 16, 1975. He lived in Blue Springs for the past 30 years, after relocating from the Pacific Northwest. Pete was a salesman for an office supply company. He enjoyed traveling in his RV after his retirement in 1995. He also taught in the Kansas City School Districts after retirement. Pete was a member of the Good Sams RV Club and the American Legion Post #21 in Independence, MO. He was preceded in death by one sister, two brothers, and a son, Peter S. Soderlund.

Pete is survived by his wife, Ledia Soderlund of the home; two sons: Matthew Soderlund & his wife. Michelle, and Christopher Soderlund, all of Boise, ID; two step-daughters: Ivonne Higuero of Geneva, Switzerland, and Virginia “Sisie” Folkers & her husband, David, of Raymore, MO; two step-sons: Richard Bross II & his wife, Kimberly, of Raymore, MO, and Michael Bross of Blue Springs, MO; and 16 grandchildren.
