Dawn D. Taff

Dawn Deann Taff, 47, of Independence MO passed away May 18, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a 6 month battle with ALS.  Dawn was a perfect example of how a person should be, selfless and loving.

Dawn was born on January 22, 1968 in Jefferson City MO to Anna Dean and Richard Divers.  As a child, Dawn was always strong willed and giving.  She graduated from Fort Osage High School, where she met the love of her life, Dave Taff.   After graduating from High School, Dave and Dawn began their journey.  Together they raised three amazing young men, Zachery, Ethan and Dillon.

Not only was Dawn a devoted wife, and a loving mother, she was an amazing friend, a supporter of many, and a friend to all she met.  Dawn loved life.   She was the biggest cheerleader for her sons, nieces and nephews, and their friends as they participated in Pop Warner Football, choir, competitive baseball, and her favorite, Fort Osage Wrestling.  Even after her sons outgrew the programs, Dave and Dawn remained active in Pop Warner Football, and the Fort Osage Wrestling program.  Nothing brought her more joy than touching so many lives.

Dawn, Dave and their family are members of Southside Church of Christ of Blue Springs MO.   She was a devoted Christian, and an amazing person.  As a member of the church, she loved working with youth, teaching bible class, organizing events, and her time with her extended family.   Dawn and her dearest friend, Mary Bedsworth, started “a ladies retreat” with the women of her congregation.  Her encouragement and enthusiasm for the Lord were an inspiration for everyone.

Dawn’s life with us was too short, but she was a fighter to the very end. The short time we have had the privilege of knowing her has been incredible.  She leaves behind a long line of family and friends that have been fortunate enough to have benefited from her kind and loving ways.   She will be truly missed by all.

Dawn is preceded in death by her grandfather Lawrence Bedsworth, her grandmother Jennie Barnes, her aunt and one of her closest friends Anita “Frita Mae” Bedsworth, her uncle Jim Bedsworth, her grandfather James Taff and her mother Anna Dean Divers.

She leaves behind Dave Taff, husband of twenty-five years and their children:  Zachery Taff, Ethan Taff, and Dillon (Taylor) Taff.   She also leaves behind her sister Debbie (Lynn) Rose; 1 daughter Brittany, her brother Rich (Karry) Divers; 5 children: Kodey, Chance, Katy, Collen and Kash, her sister Dana (Bob) Glynn; 3 children:  Samantha, Graham, Alex, and 2 great-neices:  Keighann and Kaesynn; her sister-in-law Kathy (Sam) Faiva; 3 children:  Alyssa, Makayla, Sammy, her sister-in-law Angie (Brad) Baker; 3 children:  Riley, Bekah, Dano; step-brother Tim (Carolyn) Divers, her father and mother-in-law, Wayne and Mary Taff, and her father Richard Divers.
