Carol Joan Taylor, age 75 of Odessa, MO, passed away on July 9, 2014 at 10:50 p.m. in her home. She was born on October 22, 1938 in St Louis, Missouri. Carol was an avid quilter and creative seamstress. Her creations delighted, inspired and brought comfort to many people. She was a member of the local quilters guild and the Bates City Baptist Church. Most of all she was a loving mother and grandmother who helped everyone and always gave encouragement and strength to those around her.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Claude O. Taylor; her parents, Benjamin and Emily T. Squires; and her brothers, Michael Squires and Carl Squires.
Carol leaves behind 6 children: Annette Barker of Oak Grove, MO, Lorry McDonald of Odessa, MO, Tammy Taylor of Odessa, MO, Danita Camron of Holden, MO, Timothy Taylor of Clinton, MO, and Stephanie Hicks of Warrensburg, MO; her siblings: Benita Fry of Pasadena, TX, Shirley Squires of LA, and Roy Squires of St Louis, MO; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be Monday, July 21st at 11:00 a.m. in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansa,s next to her beloved husband Claude O. Taylor.
