Jerry L. Vanderpool, 78, passed away peacefully, after a lengthy health battle, on Saturday, April 13, 2019 with his wife and loved ones by his side. Jerry was a strong fighter and advocate for all things he believed in, and he fought the battle for his life no differently.
Jerry was born on June 29, 1940, in Galt, Missouri to Leon & Helen (Tunnel) Vanderpool. He graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1958 and shortly after married the love of his life, Mae Ann (Clevenger) on June 14, 1960. Jerry and Mae had 3 children: Jerri Mae (Mike) Arnold, Leon (Connie) Vanderpool and Steven (Charity) Vanderpool. He was a devoted husband and father who worked diligently at a local cemetery to provide for his family. He took great pride in family, work, and all his endeavors.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, sister, three children, 5 granddaughters, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. with Memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19th at South Crysler Restoration, 16101 E. Salisbury, Independence, MO 64050.
