Ricky Devon “Rick” West, 59, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the family for his grandchildren’s education fund.
Rick was born February 22, 1953 in Lebanon, Missouri, the son of Vivian Stickley and Darhl V. West. He owned & operated the Ranch House Saloon in Blue Springs. He had been a meat cutter at several Kansas City grocery stores. Rick liked to go hunting and fishing. He enjoyed life and having a good time. He was a big practical joker. Rick was a member of the Elk Lodge in Blue Springs, and of the Meat Cutters Union.
His survivors include one son, Devon West of Blue Springs; two daughters: Heather West Gossett & husband Brent, of Lake of the Ozarks, and Shonna Janes & husband Richard, of Odessa, MO; his father, Vaughn West & wife Maxine, of Buffalo, MO; his mother, Vivian Schulte of Jefferson City, MO; one brother, Tommy West of Nixa, MO; two sisters: Vonda Williams of Blue Springs, and Sharon West of Oak Grove, MO; and four grandchildren.
