Michael D. Strome, 72, of Independence, MO passed away May 14, 2020 at his home with his loving family at his side.  Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 17^th in Six Mile Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Six Mile Cemetery Fund.   

Mike was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on March 17, 1948.  He served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971.  Mike worked for Teamsters Local Union 41 for various employers from 1977 until he retired in 2010.  He loved fishing, garage sales, playing poker, and spending time with his granddaughters, making memories.  

Mike was preceded in death by the love of his life, Debi Jeffries Strome. They were together for 35 years. 

Mike is survived by daughter, Joni Beem (Terry Burks); granddaughters, Morgan Burks (Lucas Meeks) and Drew Burks; great-granddaughter, Leona Jean Meeks; great-grandson, Edwin Michael Meeks; sisters, Penny Reser (Max) and Laura Hart (Melvin); sister-in-law, Paula Jeffries; plus numerous other relatives from the Jeffries family. 

Papa Mike, we will love you forever and a day.
