Betty Jane Garrett, 81, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29th in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the cemetery. If you want to sit, please bring a seat! In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace UMC, Oak Grove Campus.
Betty was born June 20, 1938, in Holden, Missouri, the daughter of Carl C. and Viva G. (Slack) Jones. She married Gary Garrett on October 11, 1958, and he preceded her in death in 2008. Betty was a school bus driver for the Oak Grove School District, retiring in 2002. She was Grandma Betty to everyone. Betty loved listening to Blue Grass music with Gary. She also enjoyed doing missions and attending Grace UMC.
Also preceding Betty in death were her parents; two brothers, Jack Jones and Gary Jones; and two sisters, Donna Borer and Judy Austin.
Her survivors include two daughters: Vivian Bumgarner (Bryan) and Lori Finley; three grandsons: Garrett Finley, Patric Bumgarner, and Michael Bumgarner (Jasmine); granddaughter, Amanda Simpson (Cory); and great-granddaughter, Kimmy Simpson.
