Betty Jeane Arnett, 87, of Oak Grove, MO, passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at her home.
Betty was born April 5, 1925 in Palco, KS, the daughter of Rollie & Amy (Deapen) Gibson. She married Gene Arnett on September 25, 1945 and he preceded her in death on November 4, 1988. Betty worked for the State Farm Agency in Oak Grove for a number of years. She was a charter member of the Broadway Baptist Church of Oak Grove. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA). Her hobbies were reading, sewing, gardening, and doing puzzles & crafts. She also enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, garage sales, and playing Bingo.
Her survivors include: son Gary Arnett and daughter & son-in-law Karen & John Epperson, all of Oak Grove; sister & brother-in-law Helen & Vencil Wood of Bolivar, MO; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson.
Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, September 5th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am preceding the service. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.
