Danny Joe Morrison, 41, of Grain Valley, MO died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 7, 2009. He was born in Kansas City, MO on February 11, 1967, the son of Betty Ann (McCall) and Billy Joe Morrison, both of Grain Valley. He was employed at the Plaza Apple Market.

Danny was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy, and daughter, Crystina, and all of his grandparents

His survivors include his parents; a brother: Michael D. Morrison and wife Misty of Grain Valley, MO; a sister: Anita J. Lynn and husband Mark of Lone Jack, MO; and nephews: Darhl D. West, Trevor Morrison, and Quincy Morrison.

Services will be at Royer Funeral Home – Grain Valley on Tuesday, February 10th with visitation from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm and funeral service at 7:30 pm.

Danny’s heart was always loving and he will be sadly missed.

Our loving mother, Lisbeth Grote, 90, passed away Wednesday, February 4th 2009 at home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove on Friday, February 6th from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday, February 7th at the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Oak Grove Community Services League or Oak Grove Boy Scout Troop #266.

Lisbeth was born in Excelsior Springs, MO on February 10, 1918 to Austin and Della Bowers. Following the death of her mother at age eight, she moved to Kansas City to live with her sister Alberta Stigall and brother-in-law Willis. She married Leonard Eugene Grote in 1934. They made their home in Oak Grove where Lisbeth has remained for 75 years. They were blessed with nine children.

Lisbeth was a member of the Oak Grove Home Economics Club. She was an avid fan of Oak Grove sports, of which several of her children and grandchildren were participants. She never missed a football or basketball game if one of her boys was playing. Lisbeth always had an open door policy and frequently had a houseful of children, friends and family. She loved to travel and was always ready to go at the mention of a possible car trip.

Lisbeth was preceded in death by her husband; two children, Donald and Wayne; and her sister Alberta “Auntie” Stigall.

Her survivors include 7 children: Della Tosspon (Scott), Garfield AR, Lenora Elliott, (Don) Grandview, MO, Logan Grote, Kansas City, MO, Philip Grote (Carol), Oak Grove, MO, Sue Tolliver, Peoria, IL, Jon Grote (Ruth Ann), Centerview, MO, Alan Grote, Lee’s Summit, MO. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, including Kurtis Blocher, Karyl Blocher, Morgan Tolliver and Rachel Miller who lived in her home as children; 56 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
