Wanda Maxine Blackmore, 79, of Kansas City North, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Shangri-La Nursing Home in Blue Springs. Funeral services will be 4 pm Friday, February 19th at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, 205 SW 17th Street, Blue Springs, with Rev. Ed Bell officiating. The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm preceding the service. She will be cremated. Her ashes will be placed in the columbarium in Blue Springs Cemetery at a later date.
Wanda was born on December 20, 1929 in Climax Springs, MO, the daughter of Cleo & Stella (Raymer) Wiseman. She’d had several occupations over the years, but her favorite was as the driver of an OATS bus in Claycomo.
Her survivors include a daughter: Jeanine Lynn of Kansas City; two sons: Dennis Wiseman of Washington and Steven Carey of Tennessee; two sisters: Margerite Yates and Wilma Miller of Independence; four grandchildren: Kari Tomlinson of Blue Springs, April Carey, Jamie Carey, and Reed Wiseman; and two great-grandchildren: Chloe and Amelia Tomlinson.
