Clarence Calvin Arnold Sr., 82, of Oak Grove, MO, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, March 21st at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at Royer’s. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Clarence was born on February 1, 1927 in Amsterdam, MO, the son of James & Mary (Bailey) Arnold. He was an Army veteran of WWII. Clarence had been employed by General Motors. He was retired. He was a member of UAW #93.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings: Kenneth Arnold, Jim Arnold, Tom Arnold, Lena March, Fanny Funk & Hazel Barker.
His survivors include his seven children: June Boutross & husband Paul of Bates City, Midge Atkison of Oak Grove, Betty Plumb & husband Larry of Peculiar, Jerry Arnold & wife Kathy of Archie, Sharon Warren & husband Jay of Adrian, Juanita Pendergrass & husband Jim of Wichita Falls, TX, and Clarence Arnold Jr. & wife Kathy of Freemon; five brothers & sisters: Charles Arnold & wife Audrey of Adrian, Leona Hill of Adrian, Lillie Mitchell of Marietta, GA, Florence Cunningham of Butler, and Irene Williams & husband Junior of Manila, AR; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 7 great great-grandchildren.
Clarence loved all his children and grandchildren very much. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
