Nadine McGuire Qualls, 74, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 at St. Mary’s Manor, Blue Springs. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18th at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, Blue Springs; burial in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17th at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 9229 Ward Pkwy, Suite 350, Kansas City, MO 64114.
Nadine was born on October 8, 1934, in Dade County, MO, the daughter of Ira and Eunice M. (Matthews) Needham. She was a manager for Tupperware. Nadine was a member of the V.F.W. Unit 6603 in Blue Springs, the D.A.V. in Kansas City, and Shriner’s Widows in Blue Springs. She was also a 42 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 499, where she served as a past president.
Nadine was preceded in death by her husband, James Gregory McGuire.
Her survivors include four daughters: Barbara Lynch of Harrisonville, MO, Melinda Kurtz & her husband, Rusty, of Blue Springs, MO, Cindy Whiting & her husband, Rick, of Warrensburg, MO, & Cheryl Thompson of Warsaw, OH; one son: Leroy McGuire & his wife, Cindy, of Blue Springs, MO; two sisters: Wanda Kurtz & Allene DePeralta; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 7 great great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family, & friends.
