Patricia June Sharp, age 81, (formerly of Oak Grove, MO) passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at The Groves Long-term Care Facility, where she had resided since December of 2006. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 16th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. Funeral services will be 10 a.m.. Friday, April 17th at the funeral home; burial following at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, MO.
Pat was born June 1, 1927, in Monett, MO, the daughter of Chester and Iva Leta Hedges. On June 4, 1946, Pat married Leo Sharp, whom she had met while working at the North American Aviation Plant. In 1955 they purchased a farm south of Oak Grove, where they resided for 30 years. Pat and Leo owned & operated West Side Auto Parts in Kansas City & Oak Grove. Pat continued to live in Oak Grove until 2003, when she moved to Grain Valley.
Pat loved to spend time with her family, work puzzles, and go to the boats.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, grandson Chris, her parents, and seven siblings.
Her survivors include three daughters: Judy Evans & husband Rod of Oak Grove; Connie Stacy of Grain Valley; and Cindy Spellman & husband Tim of Plattsburg; one son: Gary Sharp of Kansas City; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and her very special friend: Doyne Williams (Arkie).
Memorial contributions are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation, as kidney disease affected not only Patricia, but many of her family members as well.
