Ralph Leon Snow, 82, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Grain Valley Cemetery, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to North Spring United Methodist Church, 601 NE Jefferson Street, Blue Springs, MO 64014, or to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145.
Ralph was born on October 24, 1926, in Depew, Oklahoma, to Ralph Lee and Irene Costigan Snow. He moved to Grain Valley, MO at a young age, graduated from Grain Valley High School and attended the University of Missouri. Ralph was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, having served during the Korean War. He married Harriette Sue Cobb on October 30, 1955. Ralph worked for insurance companies as an Auditor & Safety Engineer for over 30 years. He was a general pilot, a Ham Radio Operator, an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling to visit family & friends, and avid reader, and enjoyed his Mercedes Benz.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Loreane Johnson.
His survivors include his wife Sue; sons: Arthur Lee & Kristy Snow of TN, David Ralph & Lisa Snow of Grant City, MO, and James William & Marlene Snow of Avon, IN; daughter: Barbara Sue & Gary Bernhardt of Blue Springs, MO; grandsons: Jacob Bernhardt, Aaron Snow, Marcel Snow, & Douglas Vesely; granddaughters: Amanda Snow & husband Nick Blumhoff, Tatiana Snow, Mary Bernhardt, & Sophia Snow; sister: Linnea Cogan of Grain Valley, MO; and nieces, nephews, & cousins.
