Larry McMullin

Lawrence H. McMullin left this world to a better place on June 22, 2009, after a 3-year battle with lung cancer. He was born February 23, 1942 in Kansas City, MO, the son of George & Mary McMullin. Larry spent his childhood between Kansas City and the farm outside El Dorado Springs, MO. He spent his life at many jobs in construction. He would help anyone with any project.
Larry was a US Army veteran, where he spent 6 years as a cook for a hospital unit.
His survivors include his wife of almost 20 years: Sharon McMullin of the home; one son: Robert McMullin & wife Claudia of Pleasant, KS; one daughter: Lora Whitsell & husband Bryce of Princeton, TX; a granddaughter: Holly Nelson of the US Marines, CA; step-daughter: Sherri Rumbo of Harrisonville, MO and her children: Michelle Winn (Tim) of Blue Springs, Jeremy Dickerson (Sarah) of Independence, and Jason Brockert of Booneville, NY; step-daughter: Marsha Sartain of Blue Springs; the love of his life, great-granddaughter: Natasha Winn; a sister: Marion Clemmons & husband Hose D of Tunas, MO; a half-brother: Gary Dean & his wife Barbara of Weatherby Lake, MO; his mother-in-law: Wilma Martens of Adrian, MO; two sisters- and brothers-in-law: Betty & Gary Nichol of Archie, MO and Diana & Don Moore of Barnett, MO; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews; many friends; and his dog, Angel.
Larry was preceded to heaven by his father: George; his mother & step-dad who he considered his Dad: Mary & Robert Belcher; a son: Shawn Lee McMullin; an infant son; and a sister-in-law: Linda Franks & her husband Keith.
Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Saturday, June 27th at the Royer-Hays Funeral Home, 205 SW 17th Street, Blue Springs; cremation to follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:30 pm preceding the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Springs Methodist Church or the Cancer Fund.
