Ross Vaughn Trites, 52, of Oak Grove, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Centerpoint Medical Center of Independence. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27th at Royer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 p.m. preceding the service.
Ross was born January 30, 1957 in Aberdeen, SD, the son of Harry & Helen (Woodbury) Trites. He married Betty Kathleen Cervantez on September 20, 1986. Ross was employed as a teacher at the Keller/DeVry University, Kansas City. He was also a certified dietary manager at several area nursing homes. He was a soccer coach, liked computers, and served as a mentor at Keller/DrVry. He was an avid culinary artist. Ross was a member & elder of the Faith in Christ Fellowship, Oak Grove.
His survivors include his wife Kathy of the home; two sons: Ross Trites II of the home and William Andrew Trites of Oklahoma; his parents: Harry & Helen Trites of Mesa, AZ; three brothers: twin brother Ralph Trites of Overland Park, KS, H. Thomas Trites, Jr. of Eagan, MN, and Scott Trites of Huntsville, AL; and one sister: Deb Kronfeld of Moline, IL.
