Alan Lee Spicer, 50, of Independence, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 30, 2009. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009 at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, 205 SW 17th Street, Blue Springs. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 – 1:30 pm on Friday.
Al was born in Evergreen Park, IL on July 17, 1958. He grew up in Country Club Hills, IL and lived all of his adult life in the Blue Springs and Independence areas. He owned and operated Spicer Floor Covering in Independence.
His survivors include his mother: Geraldine Spicer of Monmouth, IL; his companion: Tammara Devine: two brothers: Rod Spicer of Bates City, MO and Ray Spicer of DeKalb, IL; and one sister: Julie Spicer of St. Paul, MN. Al was preceded in death by his father: Leland Spicer in 2003.
Al leaves behind many wonderful friends, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and family members who will miss him dearly.
