William Dudley Williamson, 75, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, July 17, 2009 at the Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-2 pm preceding the service.
Dudley was born on March 21, 1934 in Oak Grove, MO, the son of Lawrence and Lucelia (Webb) Williamson. He married Carol Flynn on June 4, 1954. Dudley had been employed by the Lake City Ammunition Plant for 27 years. He was also a heavy equipment operator and member of Local 101 Heavy Equipment Operators. He had worked for George Shaw Construction and Apac Construction. Dudley volunteered for the Grain Valley Fire Department and had served as Chief.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother: Sidney Williamson, and a sister: Willadean Stephenson.
Dudley is survived by his wife: Carol Williamson of the home; two daughters: Patricia Williamson of Blue Springs, MO and Cathy Talley of Odessa, MO; two sons: Lawrence Williamson & wife Kaye and Loren Williamson & wife Donna, all of Lake Tapawingo, MO; two grandsons: Travis Williamson & wife Beth of Pleasant Hill, MO, and Ryan Wilfong & wife Katie of Sumter, SC; two great grandchildren: Shannon and Ryker Williamson; a sister: Elizabeth Wyatt of Blue Springs, MO; and several nieces & nephews.
Dudley seldom met a person who wasn’t a friend, and if he did, they soon would be.
