Lynn Court, Independence, MO 64055 ~~~~~~~~~~ Kaye Frances Ried, passed away Sunday, October 11 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, MO after a short battle with lung cancer. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14 at Royer-Hayes Funeral Home, 205 SW 17th Street, Blue Springs, MO. Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 15 at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, 805 NW R.D. Mize Road, Blue Springs, MO. Kaye was born on January 10, 1944 in Maryville, MO, the eldest daughter of Mary Frances (Price) Ried and Luke Francis Ried, both of whom preceded her in death. Kaye worked for Southwestern Bell for over 30 years as an operator and retired in 2005. She relished spending time with her many nieces and nephews and was the favorite aunt amongst them all. Kaye was an avid movie-goer and reader, she enjoyed playing board and card games, as well as trivia. A lover of animals Kaye always had a dog at home. She is survived by two brothers, Raye (Yvonne) Ried of Grain Valley, MO; and David Ried of Blue Springs, MO; and a sister Jan (Steve) Evans of Kansas City, MO; five nieces and three nephews, three great-nieces, four great-nephews and her dog, Elvis.
