Vernon Eugene Kaufman, 70, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away, Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Saint Luke’s East Hospital, Lee’s Summit, MO. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 at the Royer Funeral Home Oak Grove Missouri. Burial immediately following in the Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. preceding the service.
Vernon was born December 22, 1939 in Emporia, KS to Fred and Gladys (Stevens) Kaufman. On January 15, 1968 Vernon married Ruth (Scobee) Kaufman. As an over the road truck driver he loved the scenic sites across the United States, was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church and thoroughly enjoyed reading his bible.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons; James Aldrich in 2001 and Joseph Aldrich in 2003.
His survivors included his wife Ruth Kaufman of the home, two sons; Scott Kaufman of Oak Grove, MO and Stacey Kaufman of Blue Springs, MO; and two daughters; Melissa Daggett of Platte City, MO and Debbie of Florida; and 9 grandchildren.
