~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On April 2, 1989, our father, Reverend Delmar Mahurin was unexpectedly promoted to heaven, leaving behind the love of his life. On Thursday, February 4, 2010, he stood by the Jordon River eagerly waiting to embrace her once more.
The angels were summoned, the command was given and all of heaven begin preparing for her arrival. Early in the morning Mom was carried away from this earth to be reunited with Dad. Together they are worshipping at the feet of the Savior that they loved and served so faithfully.
Gladine was born August 17, 1927 to Andy and Oma Petty. She married Delmar Mahurin on July 13, 1946. They served in Ministry for the Lord many years together. When Dad left her behind she continued to pour her wisdom and love into the lives of their family and friends.
She was a precious and loving mother to four sons: Reverend Randall Mahurin and wife Janace of Salem, Reverend Dan F Mahurin and wife Debbie of Higginsville, Reverend David Mahurin and wife Susan of Independence, and Reverend Tim Mahurin and wife Teresa of Independence. She was a devoted and cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren: Kriste Crocker, Kimberly Pogue, Jeremy Mahurin, Daniel Mahurin, Matthew Mahurin, Beth Mahurin, Terry Mahurin, Jason Mahurin, Amy Small, Emily Ford, Timothy Mahurin, Andrew Mahurin and Rachel Mahurin. A very special great grandmother to 26 great grandchildren who adored their “Grandma with the white hair.”
She is also survived by two brothers: Wayne Petty and Larry John Petty both of Farmington Missouri, and two sisters: Lorraine Bell of Park Hills Missouri and Sharon Hayes of Desloge Missouri.
Mom was employed as a Bus Monitor for First Student and worked with preschool children. She sang with them, bought gifts for them and was most proud of her perfect attendance for the entire year. She was a prayer warrior who faithfully attended services – gave words of encouragement and final hugs to her church family on the night before she went home to glory. She will be greatly missed by her family and all her friends.
Funeral services will be 12 Noon on Friday, February 12th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley; burial in White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, February 11th at the funeral home.
