Charles F. “Charlie” Powers, 69, of Odessa, MO passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center, Lee’s Summit, MO. Inurnment with Military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Charlie was born December 13, 1940 in Austin, Texas, the son of Charles B. Powers and Eunice (Jones) Powers. He was raised by his grandparents, Margaret and Elmer Jones. Charlie severed his country in the United States Navy. On October 28, 1967, he married Carol Moore . Charlie worked as truck mechanic for Midwest Kennworth until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife: Carol Powers of the home; two sons: Shawn and wife Mary Powers of Independence, MO and Brian Powers of Odessa, MO; his grandchildren: Justin, Corey and Aaron Powers of Independence, MO; his mother: Eunice Powers of Chillicothe, MO; and one sister: Vera Baker of Overland Park, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, sister: Eunice Gutman, and an uncle: Elmer Jones.
