Steven Allan Brown, 51, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 in the Monterrey Park Nursing Center in Independence, MO. A memorial mass is to be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the St. John La Lande Catholic Church, 801 Northwest RD Mize Road, Blue Springs, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church preceding the mass.
Steven was born August 16, 1958 in Independence, MO to Gerald and Evelyn (Dugger) Brown. He was a graduate of Fort Osage High School in 1977, a member of the St. John La Lande Catholic Church in Blue Springs, MO. He enjoyed spending time with his family and retired from the US Navy were he served as 1st Mate to the Captain for 2 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Evelyn Brown.
His survivors include his wife of 23 years: Vicki Brown of the home; 3 stepdaughters: Julie Hitterdal and husband Mark, Sherri Jackson and husband Billy, and Jennifer Yardley and husband Kevin; 4 grandchildren: Erica Ulmer, Ian Hitterdal, Noah Hitterdal, and Zoe Yardley; 2 sisters: Jeannie Harris and husband Walt, and Sharon Kreiling and husband Wayne; 1 nephew: Aaron Kreiling and wife Tara; 3 nieces: Natalie Kreiling-Ohmart and husband Todd, and Brandy (Shaw) and Mallory; 2 great grandchildren: Zayne and Jayden Ulmer; 1 great nephew: Garret Kreiling; 1 great niece: Mi’Kayla Carpenter; and one uncle: Jack Brown.
