Bessie May Jamison, 87, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at her home. Services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ Oak Grove Restoration Branch, 1203 North Broadway, Oak Grove, MO; Burial in the Floral Hills East Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. The family will receive friends at the church from 10- 11:00 a.m. preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Cross Roads Hospice or Oak Grove Restoration Branch Church.
Bessie was born on July 18, 1923 in Weir, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence and Beulah (Burch) Stark. She was blessed and baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Oak Grove Restoration Branch. She attended Graceland College and retired from Western Electric. She was a member of the Pueblo Quilt Club, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, sang as a member of the Contania Choir, and a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence and Beulah Stark; her husband: Harold D. Jamison; one brother: Chester Stark; and one sister: Lorene McCullough.
Her survivors include one son: Allen Rightmyer & his wife Mary of Spring Hill, FL; one daughter: Marsha Swails of Woodbury, MN; a former son in law: Tom Swails of Woodbury, MN; one step daughter: Joyce Butler & husband David of Tennessee; one step son: Jim Jamison of Indiana; 13 grandchildren: Christopher & Rebecca Rightmyer, Dori & Hugh Butler, Ann & Mike Fritz, Ben Swails, Chris Ireland, Mike Butler, Sarah, Jennie & Mike Kreuger, Ashley Dodd, and Jordan Jamison; five great grandchildren: Jacquelyn & Kensington Butler, Nolan & Lillian Grace, Frtiz & Tristan Rightmyer; 2 sisters: Mary Pierson & Ada Robinson; one sister in law: Jackie Stark; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
