Donald Wayne “Boone” Baldwin, 72, of Oak Grove, MO, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital of Blue Springs. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 22 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Royer’s. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Community Services League.
Boone was born on April 26, 1938 in Carrollton, MO, the son of Ernest & Alpha (Crawford) Baldwin. He married Rosemary King on January 29, 1956. Boone was an Air Force veteran. He had been employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove and the Oak Grove American Legion.
He was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Baldwin in 1987, a brother, Walter Baldwin, and a sister, Maryetta Baldwin.
His survivors include his wife of 54 years: Rosemary Baldwin of the home; two sons: Roger Baldwin and Bob Baldwin, both of Oak Grove; a daughter: Barbara Davis & husband Scott of Lexington, MO; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
