Ray Kester

Ray M. Kester, age 74 of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO.   A visitation will be held from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 7th at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, Blue Springs, MO, with a prayer service beginning at 7:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Ray was born on October 6, 1935 in Carthage, MO,  the son of Milton L.  and Gertruda Kester.  On August 23, 1959, he married Linda (Ford) Kester who survives of the home. Ray worked as a machine operator for Armco Steel, retiring April 2, 1997 after 32 years. He was a member and a deacon at Beaumont Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO.

Survivors include his wife: Linda Kester of Lee’s Summit, MO; a daughter:  Ann Bellinghausen & husband Tony of Blue Springs, MO; four grandchildren: Mallory Bellinghausen of Austin, Texas, Bridget Putthoff & husband Chris of Blue Springs, MO, Jake Bellinghausen of Blue Springs, MO, and Samantha Bellinghausen of Blue Springs, MO;  two nephews: Gary & wife Denise Kester of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Greg & wife Charlyn Kester of Carthage, MO; a sister-in-law: Lorene Kester of Joplin, MO; and also  numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
