Richard Lowell Kline, 67, of Independence, MO, passed away November 24, 2010 at Centerpoint Hospital in Independence, MO surrounded by his wife and family. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 29 at 2pm at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until service time.
Richard was born on a farm in Audubon County, Iowa on November 5, 1943, the second child of Frederick Lowell Kline and Erma Christina (Dennison) Kline. He was united in marriage to Kathryn E. Simpson on October 9, 1964 in Osceola, Iowa. Richard worked for Clarke Electric Cooperative in Osceola, starting as a lineman and working his way up to Director of Operations before his retirement in 2003 after 39 years of dedicated service. He was a devoted husband and father, with a gentle heart; always willing to help family and friends in need.
Richard was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Merlyn Kline, and sister Cheryl Denning.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years; his son, Randall Jeffery Kline & wife Tressa of Sandy, Oregon; daughter, Kristina Renee Gaughran, husband Jacob and his first grandchild-to-be of Independence, Missouri; step-mother, Doris Kline of Indianola, Iowa; brother, James & wife, Sue of Granger, Iowa; brother, Kenneth & wife Sharon of Promise City, Iowa; sister, Amy Kline of Des Moines, Iowa; step-brother Michael McCarl of Oklahoma; step-sister Patty Amerson of Iowa; step-sister, Linda Percifield of Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He will be sadly missed by all those that had the joy and honor of knowing him.
