Karen Sue Richards, 64, of Oak Grove, MO went home to be with her Heavenly Father Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Royer Funeral Home-Grain Valley, MO. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery-Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends t the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army.
Karen was born June 11, 1946 in Independence, MO, the daughter of Lloyd J. and Marjorie M. (Harris) Lightfoot. On June 11 1964, Karen married the love of her life: Robert Richards. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to spoil her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her survivors include her husband of 46 years: Bob Richards of the home; two sons: Jim Richards & wife Shelley and Robb Richards & wife Joey, all of Oak Grove, MO; two sisters: Linda Smith of Ridgeway, CO and Laurie Doty of Bates City, MO; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
