Margaret “Marnie” Egger

Margaret Ann Egger, 79, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs, Missouri. Cremation with memorial service to follow at a later date.
Marnie was born April 28, 1931 in Eveleth, Minnesota, the daughter of Anton and Mary (Hrescak) Udovich. She married Joseph Louis Egger on December 26, 1955. Marnie worked as a seamstress for Arrow Shirt Factory in Eveleth and Gilbert, MN. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, a life long Catholic, and was very proud of her Slovenian heritage. Marnie had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She had a passion for cooking and giving her baked goods to others. She loved to travel, was an avid softball player in her younger years, shot pool (she was a trophy winner), and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Anton, Joseph, Frank and William; and three sisters: Mitzi, Olga, and Penny.
Her survivors include her husband: Joseph Egger of the home; one son: (Rev.) Jon A. Egger & wife Dawn of Blue Springs, MO; one daughter: (Sr.) Jean Marie Egger of Blue Springs, MO; two sisters: Teddy Kilian of Chicago, IL and Coby Hurst of Tucson, AZ; one grandson: Philip Egger of Milwaukee, WI; one granddaughter: Anastasia Afton of San Diego, CA; and her much loved cat Max, her “second son.”
The family is very grateful for all of the care she received from the St. Mary’s Medical Center, especially the loving and gentle staff in the ICU.
