Freda Mae Bentley, 78, of Oak Grove, MO, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 31 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO; burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 30 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Children’s Homes Inc., 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450.
Freda was born on April 1, 1932 in Sturkie, AR, the daughter of Wayne E. & Isephin (Watkins) Story. She married Dwaine H. Bentley on December 18, 1951. She was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ, loved to sew, and in her younger years provided childcare for many children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Dwaine Bentley; one brother, James “Bob” Story; and a daughter-in-law, Pamella Bentley.
Her survivors include three sons: Scott Bentley of Oak Grove, MO, Richard Bentley & wife Laura of Clinton, TN, and John Bentley & wife Judy of Jackson, TN; two daughters: Rhonda Lunn & husband Melvin, and Jana Sattler, all of Oak Grove, MO; one brother: Burnell Story of Kansas City, MO; 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
