Cecil Thomas Lowe, 86, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Saint Lukes Hospital East, Lee’s Summit, MO. Visitation will be 10- 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Royer Funeral Home, Blue Springs, Missouri. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to: First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs, 301 S.W. Woods Chapel Rd, Blue Springs, MO 64015
Cecil was born February 21, 1925 in Lee’s Summit, MO, the son of Richard Frank and Mable (Gore) Lowe. On February 22, 1946 he was united in marriage to Erlene Ruth Allen. Cecil was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs, a member of the U.S. Army Medical Corps, serving in the Battle of the Buldge. He served on the Board of Directors for the Blue Springs Bank, as well as chaired the Board of Spectrum Pet Care for 12 years.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Erlene.
His survivors include one daughter: Shirley Leavitt & Dutch (Clarence) Schulze of Blue Springs, MO, one son: Richard Lowe & Heather of Grain Valley, MO; two grandsons: Eric Lowe & Stefani of Haysville, KS, and Richard Ian Lowe of Fort Lauderdale, FL; one great grandson: Cecil James Lowe of Haysville, KS; one niece: Dona Sims of Lee’s Summit, MO; and other nieces and nephews.
