Lillian Whisler

Lillian Edith Whisler, 94, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 at Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, April 15th at Church of Jesus Christ Oak Grove Restoration Branch, Oak Grove, MO; burial in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO at 2:00 p.m.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time.  Contributions may be made to the church or the Salvation Army.

Lillian was born July 26, 1916 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of William Theodore and Cora Emily (Eskridge) Foley.  She was a business manager in the family business, W.T. Foley Electrical Supply Co.  Lillian was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Oak Grove Restoration Branch.  She was an excellent musician and played for churches and nursing homes.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Oran Everett Whisler, and two brothers, William Floyd Foley and John Robert Foley.

Her survivors include five children: Karen & Joe Chapman of Oak Grove, MO, Marylyn Halsall of Oak Grove, Becky & Bill Ely of Green Valley, AZ, Gene & Sandy Whisler of Independence, MO, Judee Wilkinson of Independence; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
