Clara Mabel Cummins, 95, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Oak Grove Nursing and Rehab facility, Oak Grove, MO. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m.; Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Royer Funeral Home-Oak Grove, MO. Burial in the Grain Valley Cemetery-Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Preferred Hospice of Missouri-206 South 12t Street-Lexington, MO 64067-1482.
Mabel was born December 21, 1915 in Urich, MO to Corbett and Lona (Postle) Jackson. She was a graduate of Garden City High School and on November 29th, 1933 she was married to the love of her life Glen Cummins.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Corbett and Lona Jackson; her beloved husband of 52 years: Glen Cummins, Sr.; one brother: Rev. Jess Jackson; and five sisters: Grace Mainard, Hoda Greg, Irene Collins, Dorothy Johnson, and Faye Snow.
Her survivors include two sons: Arlie Cummins, Jr. and wife Donna of Bates City, MO, and David Cummins of Oak Grove, MO; one daughter: Lona Sue Gercone and husband Joe of Farmington, MO; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
