Ray Goodnight, 82, of Oak Grove, MO, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2011 at Benchmark Healthcare of Harrisonville. Visitation will be 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will be at MO State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
Ray was born April 24, 1929 in Wellsford, Kansas to William & Flora (Braden) Goodnight.
He married Betty Paul September 12, 1982.
Ray liked to Play pool, watch TV, work find-a-word puzzles and collect marbles. He was also an avid reader. He work as a Crane Operator for Armco Steel for 38 years after retiring in 1990. Ray was a member of the Oak Grove American Legion and the Odessa VFW and was a Baptist by faith.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, a twin sister: Fay Nichols on April 24, 2011.
He is survived by his wife: Betty Goodnight, of the home; one daughter: Debra Nelson of Houston, MO; one son: Bruce Goodnight of Independence, MO; two brothers: Billy Goodnight of Goodland, KS, Clifford Goodnight of Tacoma, WA.
