Rachel E. Doyle, 83, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away Saturday June 9, 2012 at her home.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, at the Royer Hays Funeral Home in Blue Springs. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
Rachel was born March 31, 1929 in Cosby, MO the daughter of George and Vernie (Eisenhower) Shewmaker. She married Ormonde Doyle in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1991. They lived in St. Joseph, MO before moving to Blue Springs 36 years ago.
Rachel loved her family and was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ormonde; twin brother Bob; brothers Dan, Jim & George; and a son George Doyle.
Her survivors include a son, David Doyle, and a daughter, Nancy VanVelsan, both of Blue Springs; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
