Charlotte Ilene Cox, 75, of Blue Springs, MO passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2012, in her home.
Visitation will be 6-7:30 pm Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, Blue Springs. Memorial Service will follow at 7:30 pm.
Charlotte was born September 7, 1936 in Grinnell, IA to Glenn & Wilma (Bell) Garwood.
She married Bill Cox October 12, 1952. They enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. & abroad. She was a phlebotomist at St. Luke’s Hospital for 15 years before retiring in 2000. She also work over 2000 hours with the Department of Conservation as a Volunteer Naturalist through Burr Oak Woods.
Charlotte is survived by her husband: of 59 years Bill Cox of the home; 2 daughters: Kristy Cox of Littleton, CO, Linda Dugan & husband Alan of Blue Springs, MO; 3 sons: Steven Cox of Blue Springs, MO, Michael Cox & wife Nicole of Liberty, MO, Gary Cox of Columbia, MO; 1 brother: Keith Garwood of Grinnell, IA; 2 sisters: Gerry Huff of Buena Park, CA, Lil Bunn of Brooklyn, IA; 5 grandchildren: Staci Dugan, Austin Dugan, Kyler Cox, Kayleigh Cox, and Christopher Cox. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to “MO Conservation Heritage Foundation – Burr Oak Woods in Memory of Charlotte Cox” P.O. Box 366 Jefferson City, MO 65102-0366.
