Amy Joan Phelan, 56, of Oak Grove, Missouri passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Amy was born September 6, 1968, in Kansas City, Missouri to Steven Russell Cowden and Barbara Lynn (Elliott) Cowden. Her and David were married right out of high school on July 18, 1987. They moved to the Oak Grove area 30 years ago and started a family. She sold insurance for over 30 years. Amy had a love for dogs, especially her own. She loved being a wife, mother and grand-mother. Her family was everything to her. Amy was very kind and hard working. She and David enjoyed riding motorcycles together, and camping together with friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her mother.
Amy is survived by her husband, David of the home; son, Dalton Lee Phelan (Katie) of Oak Grove, MO; grand-daughter, Blakely Jo Phelan; and father, Steven R. Cowden (Macey) of Liberty, MO.

9 Jul 2025My family first met Amy years ago when she worked for Jerry Oltoff Ins in Lee’s Summit, MO. She has helped us with our insurance needs for many years. Always friendly, professional, and considerate. And she was not ashamed to share her faith in Jesus. We will miss her but know she is in a better place and totally, eternally healed!
