Anthony “Tony” David Salazar was born on February 12, 1963, in Whittier, CA to John and Darlene (Dalton) Salazar.
He was a very active child. He loved playing football as a child and later in high school. He attended Truman High School class of 81 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from UMKC.
Tony loved the family dogs. There was Porgy, Roscoe, Sky, and Poochie. After 50 years he still talked about Poochie.
He had a love of cars and driving fast. Too fast. The love of his life was his 1987 Toyota truck. He drove till it wouldn’t go anymore and sold it three years ago. He loved that truck.
Tony loved working with people. Like everything he gave 100% to his jobs. His favorite was working in the optical field. Later on, he did sales for gutter coverings.
In August 2021 Anthony had a stroke that eventually left him incapacitated. He was a resident of Autumn Terrace Nursing Home when he passed away on July 10, 2022.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents John Salazar Sr and Darlene Salazar; his brother-in-law, Jeff Link; and grandparents.
He is survived by a son, Timothy Cooper, wife Sara, and granddaughter Finley; sister, Sheri Link; and brother John Salazar Jr. He will be missed by nephew, Jon-Elliott Link & wife Natalia, Jameson Link & husband Matt, and great-nephews, Matthew and Benjamin.
We will always miss you Popos.
