Barbara Jean Middleton, 83, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Barbara was born September 2, 1937, in Noel, Missouri the daughter of Maude (McNabney) Lancaster and William Alva Lancaster. She had four sisters and four brothers. Barbara enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and visiting with her family and friends. She was very proud of providing for her family.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karon Sue Cole and son-in-law, Billy Cole deceased in 1985; and husband Robert A. Middleton who passed away December 11, 1996.
Barbara’s survivors include three sons: Jake Hightower (Joy) of Independence, MO, Rainbow Hightower of Blue Springs, MO; and Michael Morton (Sue) of Quitman, AR, seven grandchildren: Adam Hightower of Quincy, IL, Eric Hightower of Pleasant Hill, MO, Jake Ryan Hightower of Lee’s Summit, MO, Kasey Karon Hightower of Moscow Mills, MO, Richard Dale Cole of Scottsdale, AZ, Kimbar Brooks of Malvern, AR, and Tina Rackley of Quitman, AR; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Sammy Woolery (Lee) of Sedalia, MO; and one brother: Jim Lancaster of Aurora, CO.
Following the Memorial Service a Celebration of Life will be held at the Elks Lodge. 100 NE Brizendine Rd. Blue Springs, MO. 64014
