Barry Larkin Barker, 86 of Independence, MO passed away at his home January 29, 2021. Visitation will be 5-7pm Wednesday February 3, 2021 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home; Independence, MO. Funeral service will be 11 am Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial at Machpelah Cemetery; Lexington, MO. Barry was born June 28, 1934 in Lexington, MO to Willis “Dutch” E. & Jewel J. (Abbott) Barker. Barry proudly served his country in the United States Army. He married
Earlene Ivy on June 28, 1957 and was married for 49 years, just 2 months short of 50 years before Earlene passed away. Barry enjoyed camping, blue grass music, traveling, spending time with his family and friends and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a huge Chiefs fan and loved watching Wheel of Fortune every night. Barry loved his dogs like family…just ask the family! He was known for making up his own songs.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents: Willis “Dutch” & Jewel Barker; 2 infant children: Timothy Barker, Kimberly Barker; 2 brothers Bobby Barker, Benny Barker; 3 sisters: Barbara Ellis, Beverly Bowers, Bette Maib.
Barry is survived by Sharon Wade of the home; daughters: Connie Johnson (Stan) of MO, Mary Alice Richardson, of MO; granddaughters: April Major of MO, Anessa Cannon of MO; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters: Bernice Hanes (Jim) and Brenda Ruark (Allan).
