Brian William Young, 42, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away February 8, 2009. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12th at Royer Funeral Home, MO. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time.
Brian was born September 13, 1966, in North Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Gerold Lee and Betty Jean (Rainwater) Young. He graduated with honors from Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, MO, where he received his B.S. in Psychology and was the captain of the college track team. Brian managed a golf shop in Springfield, MO, where he gave lessons. When he returned to Kansas City, Brian served as a supervisor at Consolidated Freight Ways. He was an accomplished trout fisherman and tied his own flies. Brian believed in the philosophy of catch & release and never kept a trout. He was a member of the Trout Unlimited and Greenpeace.
Brian was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James & Mae Young.
His survivors include his parents, Jeanne & Jerry Young; his 8 year old daughter, Lindsay Alesi Young; two brothers, David and Michael Young & his wife, Crystal; his nephew, Barrett Michael Young; and maternal grandparents, Wilma & Hilman Rainwater.
Brian truly was the most amazing father… he cherished his daughter Lindsay Alesi “Muffin” Young.
