Carolyn Ellen (Wright) Highfill, 83, of Independence, MO passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Villages of Jackson Creek surrounded by family.
Carolyn was born in Independence on May 18, 1941 to Leroy and Dorothy (Julian) Wright. She was a lifelong Independence resident. Carolyn was a graduate of William Chrisman High School, Class of 1959.
Carolyn worked for Milbank Manufacturing, retiring after 20 years. She was an avid Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan, never missing a game on TV. She enjoyed time with her surviving brother and sister playing card games and going to the Casino.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband Harvey Carl Highfill, her parents Leroy and Dorothy Wright, her sisters, Etta Mae Dutton, Susan LaRoque and Rebecca Batts.
She is survived by her children: Tony (Connie) Highfill, Paul (Leanne) Highfill and Brenda Highfill all of Independence. Also her sister Barbara Rainey of Grain Valley and brother Dale Wright of Cameron, MO. Her grandchildren: Kyle (Crystal) Highfill, Jennifer (Timmy) Garrett, Brittany Highfill, Karlie Henthorne (Julia Smith), Brad (Tiffany) Geveshausen, Brandon Geveshausen (Shana Hatfield); great grandchildren: Julianna and Dominic Highfill, Mason and Skylar Garrett, Jayden and Khloe Clark, Braxton, Evelyn Berlynn and Piper Geveshausen, Brandi, Aimee and Cora Geveshausen.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 at The Luxe Event Space 200 N Liberty, (on the Square in Independence MO) from 12-2pm. Please come and share any memories you may have with the family. Casual dress.
