Chad Steven Clark, 53, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away at home on Thursday, June 5, 2025, after a long battle with health complications resulting from exposure to nerve agents and chemicals during his service in Desert Storm. Visitation is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri. Celebration of Life to follow at 3:00 with full Military Honors.
Born on May 13, 1972, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Dale and Bonita “Suzie” Clark, Chad grew up in Revere, MO, and graduated from Revere High School in 1990. He joined the U.S. Army shortly after graduation and proudly served his country in Desert Storm. A proud veteran, Chad carried the strength, honor, and dedication of his military service into every part of his life.
Chad was known for his sharp mind, quick wit, and endless supply of dad jokes. He was a passionate and intuitive cook who rarely used a recipe, instead trusting his instincts and creativity in the kitchen. One of his specialties was spare ribs—tender, flavorful, and made with the kind of care only he could bring. Cooking was more than a skill; it was his way of bringing people together, filling others with laughter, warmth, and the comforting aroma of a meal made with love.
His love for cooking was just one way he showed how deeply he cared for others. Chad had a deep affection for cats, and his home was shared with his beloved companions: Tater, Luke and Leia. He made everyone feel welcome—always offering something kind, thoughtful, or even their favorite treat. Whether it was a snack, a gift, or simply his time, Chad gave generously and wholeheartedly. He was the type of person who called often just to check in, and he always made time for those he loved.
Once Chad called you a friend, you were a friend for life. He was always ready with a helping hand, a warm meal, and a kind word. He shared an especially close bond with his younger sister Kelly, whom he cherished deeply.
Chad’s legacy is one of kindness, loyalty, and generosity. He will be remembered in every shared laugh, every family gathering, and every story told over a plate of food. He leaves behind a community of loved ones who were blessed to know him and who will miss him dearly.
Chad is survived by his mother, Suzie of the home; his sister, Kelly (Patrick) of Grain Valley; his niece and nephew, Morgan and Bradley, also of Grain Valley; and his beloved cats, Tater, Luke and Leia. He is preceded in death by his father, Dale as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents and his beloved cats Bear, Sweet Pea, and Buddy.
