Christy was born October 30, 1970 in Independence, MO to parents Cecil Barker and Clara (Baker). She attended William Chrisman high school and graduated amongst the top of her class. She devoted her life to motherhood, many different occupations, reading, cooking, her garden, and even being her parents’ caregiver in their final years. She inherited her father’s green thumb and compassionate spirit. Christy loved photography but rarely included herself. She had an open heart for any animal or person who crossed her path, and opened her home to them just the same. She consumed books and movies like water, and gave her family and children everything she could. Christy will be greatly missed by many as she joins her family in heaven.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Cheri Hunt; and brother, Timmy Barker.

Christy is survived by her husband, David Roberts, of 37 years; daughter, Courtney (Maddie) Roberts; son, Jesse (Snow) Roberts; daughter, Alaena Roberts; sisters, Carmella (“Poor Brian”) Swaim and Cindy (Mickey) Hegarty; brother, Terry Barker; and several nieces and nephews
