Cody T. Hoffman

Cody Taylor Hoffman, 26 formerly of Oak Grove, our most beloved son, fiancé, daddy, brother, uncle, nephew, and a friend to all that knew him. He succumbed to his battle with depression and took his own life on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Cody was born August 7, 1995, to Tracie Dorsey and Scott Hoffman. Cody touched so many lives and will be remembered for his good heart, his goofy ways, the way he could always make us laugh, his smile and his ability to live life to his fullest.

His fiancé, Chelsea was the love of his life. He said many times she was his everything and never wanted to live without her. He loved his son, Bryson beyond any words could ever express. He was a stay-at-home dad caring for him, they were best of friends.

Cody is survived by his fiancé, Chelsea Kryzck and their beautiful son, Bryson Hoffman. His mother Tracie Dorsey (Aaron), his father Scott Hoffman (Tiffany); siblings, Wesley Uhlig (Kelli), Brandon Hoffman, Maddilynn Dorsey, stepsisters; Meriah Moore, Shelby Brill (Cody); sisters-in-law Kalie Kryzck, Cheylynn Cravens (Jacob). His niece Kendyl Uhlig. Grandparents; John and Gerrie Olivarez, Johnny and Joanne Olivarez.  Aunts and uncles; Marty Hoffman (Leslie); Amy Phillips (Dan); Jenni Boldrey (Scott); Leroy Dorsey (Kimberly), April Dorsey and Christine Hardy; and mother-in-law to be Carolyn Cravens. Bonus dad; Shad Badder along with his bonus grandparents; Cathy and Jay Uhlig and Terry and Sheri Badder. He leaves behind many cousins and countless friends all that loved him more than he ever realized. He also leaves behind his fur babies, Izzy, Little Peep and Oreo.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, LeRoy and Sally Dorsey and paternal grandfather, Mike Hoffman.

Cody had an amazing voice and loved all kinds of music, recording several songs of his own in the hopes he would make it big one day. He always said, “when I make it big one day, I’m going to take care of you momma because you’ve always been there for me and had my back.” We all know he would have made it big too. Anyone that met Cody would have a friend/brother for life. Cody affected many people in his lifetime and had countless friends that loved him. Cody learned from a young age you never end a conversation or call with someone without saying I love you even when some thought it was strange or you were mad because he knew tomorrow is never promised. He enjoyed reconnecting with all his friends from school and just see how they were doing.  He was such an outgoing young man and loved to talk about conspiracy theories and music – really, he would talk about anything and everything. He was also that friend that would push you to make your dreams come true because he had faith in you. He was a huge fan of the Chiefs, win or lose, in addition he was a UFC fan.

Honoring Cody’s generous wish, the gift of life was shared with many people in need through organ and tissue donation. Cody gave in death as he gave in life; he was an organ and tissue donor. Cody’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 18, from 5-7 PM and funeral services to follow at 7 PM at Royer Funeral Home, 100 Royer Lane, Grain Valley, MO.
