Donald A. Smith


Donald “Don” Anthony Smith, 72, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri. Funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024.

Don was born July 5, 1951 in Shawnee, Kansas to George William Fangrow Sr. and Rosalie (Beil) Fangrow. Don married the love of his life Debbie, on August 1, 1980. He entered the US Marine Corps in 1968 and retired in 1988. Following the military Don retired from the post office after 20 years and 3 months. Don enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to hunt, play golf and fly fishing. Don enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was a big-hearted wonderful man that will be solely missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Don is survived by his wife, Debbie of 43 years; 4 daughters: Christy Donisi, Cheryl Boehrer (Roland), Tricia Hamel and Dana Hubbard (Mikey); 2 sons: Anthony Taylor and Markus Taylor; 2 brothers, George Smith (Lareine) Gail Fangrow (Anna); 5 sisters: Yolanda Smith, Janet Carlyle, Georgia Fawcett, Jena Thompson (Kevin), Kay Fangrow- Manczuk (Marc); 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
