Donald C. Waddle, 83 of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away October 8, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home; Independence, MO. Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Burial at New Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to KC Hospice 1500 Meadow Lake Pkwy #200, Kansas City, MO 64114 or kchospice.org
Donald was born February 16, 1937 in Kansas City, MO to JR & Lela (Hutchings) Waddle. He married Ruth Ann Morefield in 1958. Donald drove a truck for Lee Way Motor Freight for 30 years. He was big into Boy Scouts and camping. Donald spent summers at the lake. He enjoyed watching Westerns and woodworking. If Donald wanted something, he built it.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Ann in 1996; parents: JR and Lela; brother: Raymond Waddle.
Donald is survived by 3 children: Melody Welther of Lee’s Summit, MO, Michael (Jill) Waddle, David (Kathy) Waddle all of Pleasant Hill, MO; 10 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 6 great-granddaughters, 1 great-grandson and companion: Dee Manning of Independence, MO.
