Donald Ray Magers, 89, of Independence, Missouri passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 22^nd at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley; burial following in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Don was born April 9, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Herbert and Louise (Payne) Magers. He graduated from East HS. He was married to the love of his life, Darlene for seventy years.They had three children, Sherry, Dave and Mark (Ginny), grandchildren Brian (Malisa), Scott (Lisa), Cassie (Justin) and Dillon, great grandchildren, Terra, Gavyn, Aynslie, Beckett, Baylor, Bode, Windi and Samantha and a foreign exchange student daughter, Cris and her children Marianella and Carlos in Peru. Don owned Mesco Industries with his brother Carl. He was also a former member of the board of directors at the Bank of Jacomo and a member of the Masonic Lodge #337 in Blue Springs. He loved to fish, travel, spend time with his kids and grandkids and root for the Chiefs and Royals.
